I think the order of the story is very important to the story. The order gives the reader a better understanding to the story. The story starts with Suyuan. She tells her life story, and how the Joy Luck Club was created. Then the ladies from Joy Luck Club tells their own personal stories. After that their children tells their stories of their life. If the story was to be told in a single story, the story would probably be more confusing because the reader does not know the backgrounds of the characters.
It would also be difficult to understand the characters personality because if it was in a single story it will probably have less information on the characters. The book right now is well written because it consists of short stories each on different characters. Because of the short stories, it gives the reader more details of their lives that will lead up to other stories later on.

In the story, Rose felt paralyzed when Bing drowned. She knew what to do, but she just couldn’t. I’ve been in situations like this too, one of the memorable one is when my brother and I were crossing the road in Japan 8 to 10 years ago. I ran to the other side and left my brother on the other side. I told him to hurry and then I saw a bicycle coming. My brother started running and my brain went blank. I knew I had to tell him to stop but it just went too fast. The bicycle hit my brother. He started crying and I felt super guilty. Luckily, he wasn’t hurt that badly. My mom got mad at me for not watching out for him. Another time when I knew what to do but I couldn’t is when I was in Australia for tennis 3 years ago, I ran as hard as I can. My hair was covering my face but I saw a baby cart with a baby in it in front of me. I knew I had to stop but my body didn’t and I collided with the cart. Luckily, the baby wasn’t hurt. My coach said we can’t play tag anymore and I apologized to the baby’s mom

Her mom prayed with her bible and tried hang things to make Bing come back after drowning she was very desperate and very upset. When it didn't work she stopped believing in god and stopped reading the bible. One day, Rose liked through the bible and saw bing's name in the death part of the bible. Her mom wrote it in pencil showing she still has hope she wrote it in pencil because pencil marks can be erased and she believes that there is still chance for Bing to be back. I think she put the bible under the table because she still hasn't accepted the fact that Bing died and she probably didn't get rid of the bible because she has hope that Bing will be back and she can erase his name. She can't accept the fact that Bing died, it's too hard for her to accept it. She's probably scared of how it's going to fell like when her hope is gone.
