What is beauty to you? There are many answers to this question. People has a different perspective on what beauty is. In the 3 videos, it shows the different ideal appearances of people from a different country or generation. Throughout generations, every male and female gets judged by their physical appearance. Everyone has an ideal appearance or what they want to look like. 

The first video showed what kind of male were considered beautiful in different parts of the world. Like the first video, the second video showed different perspectives of people from different places by having different countries make a woman beautiful. The 3rd video shows the ideal body of females throughout the history. It was interesting how there was a great difference on what beautiful men and women look like from people from different places and generations. All the videos represented the ideal appearance of different countries or time period. I was amazed with all the videos and surprised with how beautiful can mean something completely different to a person.

In the story “Size 6: The western Women’s Harem”, it mentioned self-confidence a lot. The story showed how Mernissi's self-confidence decreased because of how someone treated or spoke to her. Throughout life, many people goes through the same situation as Mernissi. People can have bad feelings toward themselves in many ways from what others say. But this is different for everyone, some people doesn’t care about what others say to them, and some people get deeply wounded by what others say. I am more like a person who doesn't care about what others say. It is important to not get affected by what others say and to love the way you are.
